Baan Chang Thai – Where Boxing and Thai Arts Meet

Okay so let’s start first with: “What is Muay Chaiya?”

Muay Chaiya is an exquisite fighting style that, from a military perspective, has constantly set incredible accentuation on low level kicks, with short, exact directions, alongside liquid protective developments and counter-assaults did by the arms (punches, elbow strikes and lower arm strikes) to the neck.

Besides, the more careless the foe and in this way less sagacious, the simpler to maintain a strategic distance from the force of his assaults; by setting him in a position where he can’t hurt you, you will have the capacity to assault him with awful strikes went for uncovered zones of his body; this is the conviction of the Chaiya Boxer and it is this surety that goes with the warriors of this style, normal for Muay Boran, in their experiences with agents of different styles.

In case you are willing to learn this very old fighting style then Baan Chang Thai is the right place to do that. It is a school which was opened on the 4th of November in 1996 and was officially visited by HRH Princess Sirindhorn Mahachakri.

The founder of Baan Chang Thai is Acharn Kridakorn Sodprasert (Kru Lek) goal was to preserve the essence of the traditional knowledge whether be it boxing or Thai art. At Baan Chang Thai you can learn Muay Chaiya and Thai art.

This school at first might be very unusual since this is the place where Muay Chaiya and Thai arts meet, but after all that’s what it makes it so special and unique. The Trainers are very professional and ready to give their knowledge and skills to the future generations.

Thanks to them, many young lovers of Muay Chaiya and the traditional Thai arts are now able to enjoy what they learnt and who knows, maybe become coaches themselves in future.

Finally, the class ends with Kru Lek giving one special tip of the day, this is the most anticipated part of the day for everyone, even the Trainers pay special attention as there is always something new to learn, there’s always room for improvement.

The school is made not to make money but to preserve the Thai art, so the prices are inexpensive or rather cheap as compared to other schools. You can also practice at the school / gym whenever you like any day after 9 am until 6 pm and all that free of cost. You only pay when you go to a class and apart from that you can use the equipment at the gym for free. Isn’t that fantastic?
