Whether you fancy yourself a bit of a go-kart ace or you just want to give it a go, go-karting is an exhilarating way to spend an afternoon or evening. One of if not the best go-kart tracks in Bangkok and indeed Thailand is Easy Kart, an indoor track situated on the 2nd floor of RCA Plaza above Tops Supermarket near the Petchaburi Road entrance to Royal City Avenue (RCA).
Open daily from 1 pm to midnight, Easy Kart caters to drivers of various age and skill from the beginner to the experienced. Three types of go-kart with different engine size are available, these being kids karts at 120 cc, adult karts at 160 cc and adult fast karts at 200 cc.
While the go-karting experience at Easy Kart is all about having fun and enjoyment, the track is also designed to create a professional environment for those with a competitive spirit, serving up some sharp corners, a long straight and enough room to get drivers thinking of the line they want to take. The track lay-out is changed every couple of months.
An electronic board displays lap times and drivers are given a personal timing result sheet at the end of their race, while spectators can watch all the racing action from a viewing deck above the track. There’s also a restaurant, big screen TV and game corner with pool table.
Races last for eight minutes, which is longer than it sounds when you’re zipping around a go-kart track. A helmet is mandatory when racing and these are supplied free of charge. Slippers are not permitted while driving and shoes and socks can be rented for Bt50. It’s not mandatory but a racing suit can be rented free of charge.
For kids from seven years old a race costs Bt500, for drivers from 12 years old a race is Bt600 and for those from 15 years old two races is Bt1,300, four races is Bt1,950, 10 races is Bt3,900 and 20 races is Bt7,000.
Corporate and group events as well as private parties can be held at Easy Kart, with options such as trophies and rewards, umbrella girls and food and beverage such as a buffet and cocktails.
