Bangkok Police Caught 42 ‘Pokemon Go Players’ On First Day

Bangkok Police warned people from playing Pokemon Go while driving. The police blamed people for reckless driving in Bangkok causing accidents on the roads.

“Catchers of Pokemon Catchers” (a group of 50 policemen) will be equipped with phone cameras and fine people trying to hunt the Pokemon on the ten busy streets. On their first day of the campaigns the police has caught 42 people.

The most number of people were caught in Sukhumvit (18 people), followed by Rama IV road ( 9 people) and Chinatown (4 people). The catchers were fined 1,000 THB for using phones while driving (unless with proper equipment).

The 10 main roads Sukhumvit, Henri Dunant road, Rama 4, Phayathai, Sathorn and Victory Monument road.
