Bangkok’s Al Meroz, a 4-star hotel opened in November is the first halal hotel in Thailand attracting Muslim tourist from around the globe. The Hotel hopes to further strengthen the tourism industry of Thailand by attracting more visitors from the Muslim or Non-Muslim country.
The beautiful Al Meroz has two prayer rooms, three halal dining rooms and is located right across Bangkok’s biggest mosque in Ramkhamhaeng road. The hotel is also close to the the Airport and a few minutes walk to the Airport link.
The Al Meroz room ranges from THB 4,000 (USD 120) to THB 50,000 (USD 1580) per night.
Bangkok has many small Halal hotels but never to the extent of Al Meroz that takes quality on a totally different level. Halal food for Muslim tourist is hard to find in Bangkok so Al-Meroz is the best choice for a Muslim tourist.
Thailand saw a 10% increase in tourism from Middle east countries in 2015 compared to 2014 and Al-Meroz expects to capture that market.
Halal tourism is a subcategory of tourism which is geared towards Muslim families who abide by rules of Islam. The hotels in such destinations do not serve alcohol and have separate swimming pools and spa facilities for men and women.
