Can Manual Traffic Management Solve Traffic Issues In Bangkok?

The Metropolitan Police Bureau (MBP) has ordered the traffic police to use manual controls to reduce traffic in Bangkok.

Sanit the acting commissioner of MBP said that automatic traffic lights in Bangkok doesn’t work because the number of vehicles in each side / direction is different.

The MPB wants the manual system implemented in Bangkok to reduce the traffic in the city. Bangkok has one of the worst traffic in Asia and no solid measures has been taken by the MBP. Thailand roads were also voted as second deadliest in the world by the U.N. in 2015.

Thailand’s traffic police were ranked 3 out of 10 for speed limits enforcement and got a poor score on enforcement of drink-driving laws in Thailand.
