Robbers Loaded Malware Onto GSB ATMs and Stole12 Million Baht

The Thai Police issued a warrant against a Russian man who stole 12 million baht from GSB (Government Savings Bank) ATMs after infecting them with malware and disconnecting them with the central system.

Rustam Shambasov, 29 years old is a Russian national and believed to have fled the country. The police is looking for more evidence to catch the other members of the group who are believed to be in Thailand.

GSB Bank shut down 3,300 of their ATMs when they came to know that the ATMs have been infected by malwares between Aug 1st to Aug 8th.

According to Bangkok Post, the man stole 3.04 million baht and fled the country. The group operated in groups and stole money totaling 12 million baht in various location such as Phuket, Bangkok, Petchaburi, Prachuap Khiri khan.
