15 propeller pumps has been installed at Khlong Prem Prachakorn to drain water in the Don Muang area via the canal. The canal is 22 kilometers long with pumps installed at 4 places to drain out the water.
The Don Muang area is 1.5 meters or more in water and with 15 pumps installed the city administration believes it would take up to 3 days to completely drain the water if there is no more rain which is unlikely to happen.
Don Muang area is one of the worst affected flood areas in Greater Bangkok. Don Muang area has been previously affected by flooding / rain as well. In 2011, the Airport was shut down for multiple days in order to drain the water.
