The government in Thailand may adopt a new drink-drive law in Thailand where passengers in the car will face charges if the driver is drink-driving.
The Prime Miniter Prayut Chan-o-cha has ordered the officials to further research if the law could be implemented in Thailand. The PM also wanted to lower the city driving speed and make stringent punishments for speeding.
The ministry also amended the laws to issue Thai license making it more stringent to achieve and eased up the laws for punishment.
The seminar for driving test takes up to 4 hours currently but the ministry plans to change to 15 hours. Also, one has has to get 100% in the multiple choice / written tests which was 90% before.
The new rule also had passengers in the car wearing seat belt at all times.
