No hope to clean Bangkok rivers and canals

The Office of Attorney general (OAG) sent a letter to General Prayut Chan-o-cha office to investigate the operations led by five government departments that have failed to eliminate weed of Bangkok rivers mainly Chao Phraya and canals.

The Department of Marine, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Department of Royal Irrigation, Department of water resources and Department of public works and town & planning were given the task to remove water weeds from the canals and rivers.

The department’s operations were not aligned with the budget allocated and no clear reports were issued. General Prayuth has forwarded the case to Deputy Prime Minister.
