There is no doubt old is always gold. This time Bangkok Expat Life team will take you to Yaowarat (Chinatown Bangkok) to tell you an inside tour of one of the most popular street food stalls / restaurants in Yaowarat.
This old style Thai restaurant is popular for Thai Sukiyaki and Khao Man Kai. Khao Man Kai is popular in Southeast Asia and is also considered a national dish of Singapore. Originated from Hainanese immigrants to Bangkok this dish is still cooked in its old style in this restaurant.
Their Sukiyai comes dry or with soup. It is mixed with meat, vegetables dumplings and noodles.

In between the hustle and bustle of Yaowarat you will find this gem called Lek and Rut seafood restaurant.
Try their baked fish, shrimp, oyesters with morning glory. The food is fresh and prepared in front of you so you can expect really top quality not available in a five-star restaurant.

Located right off the main street, this popular restaurant is a busy place and rightfully so. Popular among Thais and foreigners the specialization is in Seafood. You could see them preparing food in front of you on the grill.
Try their Garlic prawns, Crab or Egg friend rice with some barbeque seafood and Tom Yum soup.
The atmosphere in this restaurant is totally amazing.

Pork lovers you need to know that there is no other restaurant in Bangkok that could give you as many pork goodies as this place. Flat noodles in peppery soup with crispy pork belly, liver and lung. The restaurant only does THIS dish and is always packed so make sure you go early or be patient to wait in the queue.

Well there is nothing fancy such as cake in Yaowarat to end you day but there is something quintessential to Yaowarat which is its famous grilled bread with fillings street stall.
There is a long queue in this restaurant with people of different ages but mostly young adults. Try their grilled bread with coconut custard, chocolate, mint and many more.
